PersonDr. rer. nat.
Maximilian studied molecular biotechnology at the Technical University of Munich from 2008-2014. During his master and doctoral thesis at the Department of Microbiology under the supervision of Prof. Liebl he worked on the manipulation and optimization of the natural hydrocarbon biosynthesis in Micrococcus luteus and related actinobacterial strains using metabolic engineering and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry. His research interest in the promotion of beneficial or the suppression of harmful microbial processes was continuously strengthened and he successfully completed his doctoral thesis in 2018.
Maximilian has been part of the iAMB since 2020 and is working on the DGMK 823 project, using a representative mixture of bacteria, yeasts and moulds to determine risk factors for the storability of fuel oils and to develop strategies to prevent microbial contamination. One focus is on the increasing proportion of biogenic fuel components".
