Best Paper Award for Dr. Hendrik G. Mengers

The publication „Yeast-based production and in situ purification of acetaldehyde“ from Mengers et al. was, together with two other articles, awarded with the Best Paper Award from the Journal Biosystems and Bioprocess Engineering (BPBSE). Each year the editors acknowledge and honour the authors of an outstanding paper. In the publication Mengers et al. discuss the production of acetaldehyde from glucose using genetically modified S. cerevisiae with a special focus on the in situ separation and capturing of the volatile product.
