New publication on plastic degradation
The manuscript "Seawater activated TiO2 photocatalyst for degradation of organic compounds“ was published in Sustainable Chemistry and Pharmacy. Inorganic polyphosphate was used as a coating for a TiO2 photocatalyst. Upon sea water contact, the polyphosphate shell dissolves. The photocatalyst is released and degrades organic compounds. An application in plastics is envisaged. Congratulations to Max-Fabian Volhard and Prof. Dr. Thomas Jüstel from the FH Münster for the development of this innovative catalyst system. Group Blank contributed to the manuscript by analyzing the polyphosphate dissolution kinetics.
